Nordic power forwards are softening on the back of wet and mild weather input on Thursday morning, but front curve contracts face resistance as they approach production costs for coal-fired capacity.
The Q3 11 contract had shed EUR 0.45 at EUR 53.15/MWh, while the May contract had lost EUR 0.15 at EUR 53.65/MWh. The weather forecasts remain more or less unchanged, showing around 6-7 TWh of precipitation in the next 10 days, around double the seasonal norm. However, only around half the predicted amounts have actually fallen recently.
