Market - Power thriller to come

The Wednesday morning market opened thin and flat as weather forecasts were unchanged from yesterday, but the forward curve showed strength and was up a few NOKs from the Tuesday close. SO-03 traded up to 248 NOK/MWh during the morning session, but fell back with a weakening curve before noon. Traders continued to discuss the possible scenarios ahead today, and according to an international trader we could be in for a thriller this spring.
The market lifted at open and fell back towards noon as has become somewhat customary lately. The fundamentals are more or less unchanged from yesterday, however, and the question remains as to when, where and if something exceptional will happen. Traders argued this morning that the present market situation is very interesting, nervous and awaiting, but interesting. No floating

The Tuesday morning market took another vigorous pull and brought the entire curve up several NOKs. The very front was weaker as temperatures are high, but the weather forecasts have cut out large amounts of precipitation today, and consequently the summer and autumn contracts are back around their early January levels. Players had diverging judgments about where it is all heading today, but leanings remain slightly bullish.
