Nordic Market - Strong front
The front products in the Nordic power market are heading north while further out on the curve, most contacts have traded sideways or fallen back a few notches this morning.

Nordic Market - Midsummer bull
In the Nordic power market, the front week opened down this morning on wetter forecasts and rather strong reservoir figures. However, all other products still head north and close to mid day, week 26 followed suit. According to market players, the sentiment is bull, bull, bull.

Nordic Market - Adjusting the level
According to market players, there are no important new signals today. Still, prices are up from yesterday. Traders have finished their stop losses, and are now adjusting the level.

Market - Not too eager on the downside today
The Friday morning market was calm and thin. Prices lifted a little at open, but sagged down towards noon, V2-03 and V1-04 down to around the Thursday close. A trader at a Norwegian production company believed that players probably had become a little too eager on the downside lately, and argued that the hydropower producers won’t start producing as much water as some may think. “The trend is down, but this is not 1996,” he said.

Market - Scandinavian Bearlines
One of this week’s issues has been whether V2-03 would break through the 220-level, and this morning the answer was given as the contract came crashing down and fell to 116.50 NOK/MWh. Weather forecasts are soaking wet and the spot is expected to break down, so a couple of players we spoke with this morning, pleased as they were, believed in more bearish days ahead.

Market - When you know where you’re heading
The Wednesday market corrected up at open, seeing that weather outlooks were more realistic than yesterday, but fell back during thin morning trading when the Tuesday buyers sold a little. “All you have to do is lean back and go with the trend,” a Norwegian trader said. A Swedish trader agreed that prices are caving in, but also pointed to the reduced diff between SEK and NOK.

Die Schweiz macht auf
Noch in diesem Jahr soll in der Schweiz ein Elektrizitätsmarktgesetz verabschiedet werden, das eine stufenweise Öffnung des Marktes vorsieht.
